It's been a long time coming - although that probably has more to do with me getting used to how things work in book publishing - but I can proudly announce that I now have my name on the front of a book!
This project started almost a year ago when Bright's man in New York, James Burns, contacted me about working on a 9-spread picture book for an American publisher, Cantata Learning.
The brief contained enough information for me to have a decent understanding of what they were after - a rough layout of the pages indicating copy placement and some notes on ideas for what the illustrations might show, but I always felt like I - along with input from the Art Diector, Tim Palin - was given a huge amount of freedom in how I went about pulling the illustrations together.
Overall, this was a hugely enjoyable project to be part of, and I guess the publisher was happy with what I delivered as they have since had me working on a further 4 titles to be released later this year.
