If any of you have had a quick look through my posts will probably have noticed that I don't tend to blog very regularly. Like many others before me, my initial intentions were good - I planned to blog at least once a week, if not more. But that didn't quite work out...
So I've been thinking about why that is, and what I'm going to do about it.
Firstly, I wanted to figure out exactly what it is I want to get from blogging. Obviously driving traffic to my site is important - anyone involved in any kind of creative work needs as much exposure as they can get. But I'd like to think that there will be more to it than just self-promotion - ideally I'd like to write stuff that readers will find interesting, entertaining and perhaps even useful. So here are a few ideas -
More 'This or That' interviews with fellow creatives. I really enjoy finding out what makes people tick.
'Behind the Scenes' stuff about how I do what I do, and why I do it.
Articles about character design that I like - in books, TV, film, cartoons etc.
Stuff about the challenges of being a freelance illustrator.
If there's anything else you reckon would be worth adding to the list, let me know.
I'm not going to commit myself to any particular time frame on posting new content, but I'm fairly confident I can improve on my recent record of about 2 posts a year ;P
