I was born in Devon and after a stint in the Royal Air Force, I moved to Scotland with my husband, and then to Northern Ireland which is where I live now. I love to paint with bright colours and try and capture something different with each of my paintings.
I’m so lucky to be able to do what I love for a living and I can’t imagine ever doing anything else!
I have a small and mischievous border terrier called Maggie, an unidentified succulent plant called Jones and an aloe vera plant called Kingston.
When I’m not painting I can probably be found either walking the dog, running (couch to 5k guys, I’m not a marathon runner!), or gaming with my husband (we like Stellaris!).
Question 1 : Saturday Night or Sunday Morning?
Saturday night! There’s something a tiny bit sad about Sunday mornings, because you only have one day left until Monday! Saturday nights are brilliant, you can stick a film on, or play a game or get some serious sketching done!
Question 2 : Walking Dead or Game of Thrones?
Sorry to all the Walking Dead fans out there – I have never been able to get past episode 2 because by then I just wanted the entire cast to be eaten by the zombies! I can tell I’m not going to be making many friends here!
On the other hand, Game of Thrones is brilliant! I’ve read the books and can honestly say that the TV series is one of those odd situations where it’s better than the books. I love the costume and set design and the casting is perfect. I recently got my husband into it and now that’s what we watch with our dinner on a Monday night!
Question 3 : Staycation or vacation?
Staycation! We don’t really go on holiday but we’re being gifted a caravan this year and we can’t wait to take it out and explore Ireland a bit! It’s much less expensive than a foreign holiday and you get to go whenever you fancy a weekend away!
Question 4 : Fish & chips or Curry?
Actually this is a really difficult one. I LOVE a curry (vegetable Rogan Josh, please) with pilau rice, naan and poppadums (and that minty yoghurt stuff which is amazing). However, a good fish and chips probably can’t be beaten but the batter has to be really crispy and there has to be a good coating of it… I’m going to say curry because I get a good curry more often than I can find a decent fish and chips!
Question 5 : Photoshop or Paper & pencil?
I’ll be honest, I’m terrible at sketching – I put too much pressure on myself to make it perfect where it really shouldn’t be perfect because that’s the point of sketching! I enjoy sketching but if you do it outside people come to look at you and then you end up getting stage fright! I sketch quite a bit in Photoshop, actually I probably sketch too much in Photoshop because sometimes when I use a pencil and paper and make a mistake, I try and use Ctrl+Z to go back and correct it!
I’m going to say Photoshop because that’s what I use the most, but it really should be paper!
