Katy Halford is an illustrator from Leicestershire in the UK. Her love of drawing started when she was small, and she continued to study ‘the arts’ at school and then went on to graduate at Loughborough University with a degree in Illustration.
Katy's career started in the Children's Book world in 2017 and illustrated her first picture book, ‘Moz the Monster' with Nosy Crow to accompany the John Lewis Christmas advert. She has since worked on various other books, some being published this year and some exciting projects to be published next year.
She also creates quirky designs for art licensing for cards and gift wrap. When she isn’t illustrating she loves to visit old historic properties and enjoys a walk in the contryside.

I love all year round but having to choose I would definitely veer more towards winter. You can’t beat cosying up by the fire, cinnamon spiced candles and fresh winter walks. I also do love a bit of snow too!
Porridge or Coco Pops?
To be honest I eat more Porridge than Coco Pops, but that is only because I think it’s more healthy!
Dracula or Frankenstein's Monster?
This one is tricky! Dracula but I think if I were Dracula I’d have Frankenstein as a pet monster!
Pencils or Pixels?
Ooo this one is tricky too! Hmm, I think I will have to say pixels as this is how most of my work is produced. I do enjoy a good sketch though!
Picasso or Van Gogh?
Definitely Van Gogh, I love the mark marking textures and atmospheres he creates in his paintings.
