After a lot of hard thinking, soul searching and weighing-up of pros and cons, I've decided to call time on my efforts to make it as a freelance illustrator.
This hasn't been an easy decision to make, but I think it's for the best. There are a number of reasons behind this decision - the main one being that I just wanted to claw back some of the time that gets sucked-up into illustration projects. Holding down a day job and illustrating at night and over weekends isn't glamorous and - as I discovered - isn't great for either my mental or physical health.
And on top of that, I was starting to feel that I wasn't really cut-out for it. It takes a certain sort of mentality to succeed at being a successful freelancer in any field, and I've recently started to question whether or not I had it in me. As things stand, I don't feel that I do.
Having said all that, I'm not about to turn my back on all things creative. Hopefully I'll be able to try out some new things, which might in turn take me in all sorts of exciting new directions. Who knows where I'll end up?
As to what happens with this website, I'm not sure at the moment. Maybe it'll evolve as I start exploring different creative avenues. But I'll keep doodling. And I'll still be on Twitter.
Finally, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped and encouraged me over the past few years.
